Antonio Vega Macotela is part of the Winter 2022 residents that will be at Amant Foundation's Brooklyn campus from January 18th through April 4th, 2022.
The Mexican artist researches and works with different social groups and communities such as prisoners, miners, soldiers, or hackers, imagining tools and tactics to tackle social and economic issues and expose the capitalist systems. At Amant, he will further his research into the Q'aqchas (18th century mine thieves in colonial Bolivia) and draw parallels with a contemporary group of activist hackers.
A "Show Tell Toast" event will take place on Thursday, March 17th, where we will be able to learn further about the work of the three selected residents.
