Hector Zamora is one of the 50 artists who were selected to participate in the 4thMediterranean Biennale that will take place from April, 6th to June, 15th 2021 in the city of Haifa and in the Sakhnin Valley (Israel).Zamora will participate with the film “Material Inconstancy” (2013), named after the homonymous performance he presented at the 13th Istanbul Biennial in 2013. The performance involves 36 bricklayers throwing terracotta bricks at each other, while moving around the exhibition space and creating an intricate pattern. Along with these gestures, they exchange words that simulate a chat on a typical construction day, but that are, in fact, a piece written by poet Nuno Ramos to accompany the physical one.“A choreography of construction with which Zamora foregrounds the intimacy, the physicality, and the delicacy of corporal configuration in the construction of buildings and societies.” Rieke Vos, Research-curator of the 13th Istanbul Biennial.
