Winning by Losing, an exhibition with the curatorship of Catalina Lozano Moreno, will open on February 22nd at CentroCentro Madrid and will be open to the public until March 26th. The project questions and reinterprets the paradigm of progress characteristic of modernity by exploring the dialectical relationship between winning and losing with respect to the processes of change over time and that is expressed in the potential brands that occur during their evolution. With the work of Jorge Satorre, Emic Etic? (bones), among other artists of different nationalities, along with historical documents, the exhibition seeks to identify gestures and traces that witness the subversion of certain temporal orders or the superposition of historical marks, critically analyzing contemporary rituals or ideological naturalization of a supposed normality. It also pays attention to instances in which the notions of evolution are disarmed -mainly in non-Western ways of thinking-, while considering the colonial brand as the most embedded and effective in the contemporary world and, for that reason, the more susceptible to being disturbed.
