Labor will participate at Casa Versalles 2021 with a solo show by Spanish painter Jerónimo Elespe (Madrid, 1975), whose paintings are known for being small-formats painted on aluminium panels that evoke classical painting (Velázquez, Antonello de Messina), as well as different aspects of modernism and contemporary painting, in a continuous exchange of languages and references. Parting from memory and imagination, he represents autobiographical scenes, landscapes, interiors, portraits and abstract night scenes. The size of this paintings made on a metal base help the artist bringing out their nature of small physical objects in contrast with the frequent immateriality of the images.
This private event planned for collector and art professionals will take place from June 16 - 20, 2021 in a 19th century home in the Colonia Juarez neighborhood of Mexico City.
