Last Sunday, October 2nd, Santiago Sierra presented “LOS EMBARRADOS” (THE MUD SHOW) at Balenciaga’s runway in Paris Nord Villepinte, Paris, France.

Balenciaga commissioned Estudio Santiago Sierra for the set design of its Summer 2023 Show, recreating the piece “House in Mud” held in 2005 at Kestner Gesellchaft, Hannover, Germany. The show involved the work of 1300 people and the set was made of 275 m3 of mud that was used to cover a 2414 m2 space.

The Balenciaga Summer 23 show set was co-created by Estudio Santiago Sierra and sub for Balenciaga. The smell by SSSL Berlin.
