We are proud to announce the solo show of Teresa Margolles in daadgalerie, Berlin, Germany. The opening of the exhibition takes place as part of the Langen Nacht der Ideen 2018 organized by the Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The exhibition brings together two new projects of the artist, product of her stay in Berlin. Los Otros (The Others), is a minimalist intervention; a cloth used to clean the blood of an individual killed in the street becomes a symbol of narratives mixed with violence. The Latin American migrants Margolles met in Berlin have embroidered, each a line on the web and then tell their own stories of migration. In addition to the fabric and the stories woven into it, the exhibition includes La Gran América (The Great America), an installation of handmade clay tiles, created with material extracted from the Rio Grande and produced in the border city of Ciudad Juarez. The work is as much a monument to the dozens of immigrants who perish daily when trying to cross the river as to those who have managed to escape.
